Apple is making an old wooden barn
Apple is making an old wooden barn at it’s Spaceship campus. Apples new Spaceship campus has an aesthetic straight out of a Jony Ive sketch. They adorn it with wood, glass, and polished metal. Moreover, the place is highly futuristic and set to span 2.8-million square feet. It can house 13,000 employees(perhaps some farm animals) as well.
However, we can see in a drone video by Maverick Media that there’s a team assembling a barn on Apple’s campus. So we have a question in mind ‘what is an old wooden barn doing on Apple’s futuristic campus’?
According to San Jose Mercury News a story in 2014, the barn was originally built in 1916. They built it when most of the surrounding land belonged to farmers. More recently, the dwelling housed Hewlett-Packard employees as a sort of picnic spot that played host to a few after-hours parties.
When Apple purchased the land, CEO Tim Cook assured Cupertino’s mayor that Apple intended to carefully take it apart. They would relocate it, and erect the antique barn in its new home as well.
